What are cookies?
Cookies consist of portions of code (computer files or partial data) sent by a server to the user’s Internet browser, which are automatically stored by the browser on the user’s computer and automatically returned to the server at each occurrence or subsequent access to the site. Usually a cookie contains the name of the website which the cookie comes from, the duration of the cookie (i.e. how long it will remain on the user’s device) and a value, which is usually a unique number generated randomly. At each subsequent visit, the cookies are sent back to the website where they originated (first-party cookies) or to another site that recognises them (third-party cookies). Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise the user’s device and have different purposes such as, for example, to efficiently navigate pages, remember favourite sites and, in general, improve the browsing experience. They also help to ensure that the advertising content displayed online is more targeted to a user and their interests.
Cookies can be disabled by the user; however, this may affect and / or limit your browsing experience within the site, for example you may not be able to visit certain sections of the site or may not receive personalised information when you visit the site.
How do cookies work and how can they be eliminated?
The operating modes, as well as the options to limit or block cookies, can be adjusted by changing the settings of your Internet browser. Most Internet browsers are initially set to accept cookies automatically. However, you can change these settings to block cookies or to be alerted whenever cookies are sent to your device. There are several ways to manage cookies. To do this, refer to the instruction manual or the help screen of your browser to check how to adjust or change their settings.
To assist the user in the cookie-blocking procedure, the following are links to the procedures for the most commonly-used browsers:
Disabling cookies must be performed for each device used for browsing the Internet; therefore, if the user uses different devices to view and access the site (for example, computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.), the disabling procedure must be repeated for each browser and on each device. To delete cookies from the Internet browser of your smartphone / tablet, it is necessary to refer to the user manual of the device.
What types and categories of cookies are used by Jump Sinergy SRL and for what purposes?
Jump Sinergy SRL employs only technical cookies and analytical cookies of third parties, specifically Google AdWords, duly anonymised.
The technical cookies used by Jump Sinergy SRL are the following:
• authentication cookies, used for authenticated services, for the duration of a session;
• security cookies focused on users, used to identify authentication abuses, for a limited persistent duration;
• session cookies for multimedia players, such as cookies for “flash” readers, lasting one session;
• session cookies for load balancing, lasting one session;
• persistent cookies for the personalisation of the user interface, the duration of a session (or a little more);
• cookies for sharing content through social plug-ins of third parties, for members of a social network that have logged in.
“Technical” cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the site and allow users to navigate and exploit its features (for example, they allow the storage of previous actions or to save the user’s session and / or to perform other activities strictly necessary for the site to function).
This category also includes “analytical” cookies that help Jump Sinergy SRL to understand how users interact with the site by providing information on the last page visited, the number of sections and pages visited, the time spent on the site and each result of navigation, such as an error message, and help to understand any difficulty the user may encounter in using the site. This information may be associated with user details such as IP address, domain or browser. However, it is analysed together with information from other users so as not to identify a particular user with respect to another. These cookies are collected and aggregated anonymously and allow Jump Sinergy SRL to improve the performance of the sites.
Finally, “functionality” cookies allow the site to remember the user’s choices (for example the username) to provide the user with a more personalised and optimised navigation. Functional cookies are not essential to the operation of the site, but improve the quality and the browsing experience. If you do not accept these cookies, the performance and functionality of the sites may be lower and access to the content of the sites may be limited.
“Targeting” or “profiling” cookies are used to present content that is more suited to the user and their interests. They can be used to display targeted advertisements, to publish customised advertising based on user interests or to limit the number of times the user views an advertisement. In addition, they help to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on the site; Jump Sinergy SRL may use these cookies to remember the site that the user has visited and to share this information with third parties, including agencies and advertisers who may use their cookies to collect information on the users’ activities on the sites.
“Sharing” cookies (or social networks) are necessary to allow the user to interact with the sites through their social account and serve, for example, to express an appreciation and to share it with the related social contacts.
“Session” cookies, that are stored on the user’s computer only for technical and functional needs, for the transmission of session identifiers necessary to allow the safe and efficient exploration of the site. They are deleted at the end of the “session” (hence the name) with the closing of the browser;
“Persistent” cookies, that remain stored on your computer’s hard drive until their expiration or deletion by users. Through persistent cookies, users who access the sites (or any other users who use the same computer) are automatically recognised at each visit.
When a user utilises the site, it is possible that some cookies not controlled by Jump Sinergy SRL are activated. This happens, for example, if the user visits a page containing content from a third-party website. As a result, you will receive cookies from these third-party services. Regarding third-party cookies, Jump Sinergy SRL has no control over the information provided by the cookies and does not have access to such data. This information is totally controlled by third-party companies as described in the respective privacy policies.
The information below shows the third-party cookies present on the Jump Sinergy SRL sites. These fall under the direct and exclusive responsibility of the third-party operator and are divided into the following macro-categories:
Analytical. These are cookies which are used to collect and analyse statistical information on access / visits to the website. In some cases, associated with other information such as credentials entered for access to restricted areas (your email address and password), they can be used to profile the user (personal habits, visited sites, downloaded content, types of interactions made etc.).
Widgets. This category includes all the graphic components of a user interface of a program, whose purpose is to facilitate the user in interacting with the program (for example, widgets are the cookies of Facebook, Google+, Twitter).
Advertising. This category includes cookies used to provide advertising services within a site.
Google Analytics – The site includes the components of Google Analytics, a web traffic analysis service provided by Google, Inc. In this case too, these are anonymously managed third-party cookies to monitor and improve the performance of the host site (performance cookies).
Google Analytics uses “cookies” to collect and analyse anonymous information on the behaviour of use of the sites (including the user’s IP address). This information is collected by Google Analytics, which processes it in order to draw up reports for the operators of Jump Sinergy SRL concerning activities on the site, which does not use (and does not allow third parties to use) the Google analysis tool to monitor or collect personal identification information. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google nor does it attempt to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google may also communicate this information to third parties where required by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.
For more information, please refer to the link below:
The user can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by installing the opt-out component provided by Google on their browser. To disable the Google Analytics action, go to https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Google Adwords / Conversion Tracking – The site also uses Google AdWords conversion tracking from Google. When you click on a Google ad, a conversion tracking cookie is set up on your computer. These cookies expire after 30 days, do not contain personal data and are therefore not used for personal identification. If the user visits some pages of the site and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and Jump Sinergy SRL can recognise that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to the pages of the site. Each Google AdWords customer receives a different cookie. As a result, cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of AdWords customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. AdWords customers see the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag; however, they will not receive any information that personally identifies users. The user can prevent the setting of cookies by setting the browser software.
In general, as regards third-party cookies, if the user does not wish to receive third-party cookies on their device, they can, via the links, access the information and consent forms of these third parties and exclude their receipt.
